Psychologies and the definition of its subject-matters

Abstract
The existence of only one scientific discipline of psychology may be a mere illusion. Given the existence of different ontological and epistemological commitments regarding the subject matter of psychology, there might be different psychologies, all of them totally or partially incommensurable. Eight different ontological paradigms are examined to illustrate some of the psychologies currently in vogue.
