Abstract

In this paper, we examine the language acquisition mechanisms seen as a social process and not as a concepts communication instrument. A functional analytic model is proposed, and its used to explain some of the animals' ways of communication and the autoreflexivity of human language. We also present results of an early language acquisition research in seven children from the birth to twelve months of age. We analyze the behavioral modifications both in children and their mothers, and we found that language is not acquired through mechanisms .uniquely human, but through mechanisms with a philogenetic development whose better expression is in the human society.
