Juvenile Cultures and Student Identities: Narratives of Violence

Resumen

This article presents a theoretical analysis and a correlation of the
well-known “juvenile cultures” and “student identities”. It talks about the conflict and tensions which take place in subjective relations among members of the same group. The author approaches on one hand the adult group, the professors, and on the other hand the juvenile group, the students. The focal point of this tension is found in three layers in time and space: the student, the social use of drugs and the meanings of the body. On this the author builds three analytical frameworks or narratives that give voice to students
and teachers in relation and their experiences from the perspective of
the social role that each one plays.
