El falso mito sobre la imposible elaboración teórica en Trabajo Social

Abstract

In addition to the crisis facing professions that address social issues, caused by the gradual weakening of the welfare state model that had legitimized them, Social Work faces an additional crisis in that it has not built the necessary space to reflect on the new social complexity that requires innovative forms of treatment, where social participation is included in a new dimension. In this context, this article outlines some approaches that could help explain the initial causes of the contextual crisis that has begun to affect the actions we consider essential to our profession. It also incorporates some reflections that demystify the impossibility of theorizing through social work and, rather, incorporates the urgent need to do so, insofar as it is necessary to formalize the accumulated knowledge that serves to explain the current paths of the social issue.
