Psychological considerations of food consumption (Part 2)

Abstract

The eating behavior of an individual is influenced by different factors, from those that have to do with culture, religion and relatives, in addition to taking into account geography and even climate, without leaving aside the associated psychological factors, in which food restriction, lack of control or food consumption that is not necessarily related to the physiological process of hunger-satiety are considered. A person does not ingest nutritional substances because they are necessary for their well-being, the subject only eats food, it is here where the psychological factors involved in food intake are visualized. Therefore, understanding the reasons for eating or not eating certain foods, allows us to know the implications it has, so in this article a review of the elements that allow the presence of behaviors, cognitions and emotions, which are linked to food consumption and some of the related eating behavior disorders are presented.
