Ideología y política dentro de la ciencia política estadounidense. Una revisión histórica crítica

Resumen

Este artículo realiza una revisión de varios determinantes contextuales históricos y políticos que han impactado el proceso global de institucionalización de la ciencia política en Estados Unidos. A partir de una revisión de literatura metadisciplinar y analizar su relación con diferentes momentos de la historia estadounidense, se argumenta que dichas coyunturas han incidido en el desarrollo de las características metodológicas y los matices ideológico-normativos de la disciplina y que tal proceso de influencia debe ser objeto de discusión reflexiva y abierta como punto de partida para atender la tensión entre los fines de conocimiento académicos y los objetivos de aplicación o incidencia en la política práctica y para buscar la relevancia social de la disciplina.

Doctor en Ciencias Políticas y Sociales por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Profesor en la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales de la UNAM.
