Grado de aceptación de los padres hacia técnicas de manejo conductual en odontopediatría
Main Article Content
Abstract
Behavioral management techniques are methods to control children behavior. The objective of this study was to determine parental acceptance degree to non-pharmacologic behavioral management techniques. Parents of ASA I and II children were divided into two groups: group A written and visual explanation of behavioral techniques were offered; and group B only pictures were showed. Each parent had to answer some questions, and the data was recorded: gender, age, parents previous dental experiences, degree of studies and technique acceptance. Results: Group B parents, accepted behavioral management techniques better than Group A. However when analyzing individually each technique, this same group showed less acceptance. Pediatric language and tell-show-do techniques were most accepted. Previous explanation of techniques is necessary when deciding the use of a modeling or a physical restraint technique on their children.
