Abstract
The recent elections in Greece and the upcoming elections in Spain alert us once again to the close relationship between politics and the economy. Both nations with an economy extremely weakened by the imposition of severe austerity policies that, as we know, instead of solving the difficulties, were creating others, destroying businesses and employment and benefiting the financial elite. In different ways, each of these European countries and others have been finding ways to understand that the policies of the "troika" are not the "only" way out. Expressing that it is possible and even indispensable to face fears and threats, and move towards social, moral and economic reconstruction.
