Abstract

The concept of “behavior” has two meanings in the psychological science. The firs meaning is that of the action that an individual does. The second meaning is that of the relation which is established between the elements of an association. If we talk of behavior meaning action, there is a coincidence with the ordinary language and also with the scientific language that assumes it; this is what differential psychology and applied psychology and applied psychology usually do. If we talk of behavior meaning relation, we assume the functional meaning of this concept, making possible a coherent psychological theory in the context of other functional and natural sciences.
