Abstract

Predictions of adult stature were calculated for 18 boys and 20 girls who took part in a longitudinal growth study carried out in Mexico City from the age of 1 to 2 months up to 12 or 13 years. Their adult stature was measured at the age of 18 years or more in males and from 17 years on in females. Predictions were made according to the methods based on samples of European descent, proposed by Bayley and Pinneau (1952), Walker (1974), Roche et al (RWT, 1975), and for part of the groups and only for the upper ages, by the method of Tanner et al (TW2 RUS, 1975). The methods elaborated by Ramos Galván (1968 and 1975), based on the mestizo population of Mexico, were also applied.
