Abstract

The Ecuadorian art critic, Juan Hadatty Saltos, describes in this article the different facets of four first class Ecuadorian plastic artists: Estuardo Maldonado, Luis Miranda, Enrique Tábara, and Oswaldo Viteri, together with images of their work. The diversity of their creations is amazing: all four being contemporaries, born in the early thirties, they have developed similarly, creating collages of popular dolls, building tridimensional moving hypercubes; and producing figurative paintings with criolla motifs or personal symbols.
