Panama: Foreign policy and a national objective

Abstract
“They say that foreign policy must be defined in accordance with national interest. But who decides which are the national interests and how these interests are identified and ordered? ”, the Panamanian political analyst Nils Castro asks of himself in this article, from the perspective of a small country fighting to rescue its rights and to defend its interests against a great power. This was, and is the case of Panama, looking to recover his dominion over the most valuable portion of its territory, occupied by the United States, obtained through complex negotiation.
