“It is striking the shock that was produced throughout the world, and among many Latin Americans particularly, by the death of Saramago”, says Liliana Weinberg in this article, in which she traces a route both meticulous and analytical, emphasizing his literary virtues, the solidity of his principles, his commitment to good causes, and his capacity to for accomplishment. “Saramago looks at the quantity of humanity that we still have inside, and treats the great subjects of today”, says the Argentine anthropologist and writer.
