Abstract

This text explores ballroom and voguing as both artistic and political practices that resignify urban space and at the same time transform hostile environments into spaces of safety and belonging. Focusing its analysis on the context of Mexico City, the article examines their social, cultural, and aesthetic impact, as well as the way in which they contribute to enhance community cohesion.
