Abstract

A research advance is presented on the exploration of protective and risk factors in women researchers who belong to the National System of Researchers (SNI) in the framework of STEM, specifically in the decentralized subsystem of Polytechnic Universities (UPS) and the analysis is deepened through a qualitative phenomenological - autobiographical research with the objective of identifying the challenges present in a group of 7 women researchers in this subsystem and exploring resilience traits in significant moments of their lives, as well as, the challenges faced that triggered a personal and professional growth. Semi-structured interviews were conducted based on the resilience perspective. The results obtained show high levels of stress and coping strategies based on achievement. The importance of having a professional and personal support group in which collaboration and affection prevail in order to strengthen the effort and coping strategies of women dedicated to research is highlighted.
