Abstract
The main goal of this paper is to analyze why litterature is such a relevant tool to contribute to the moral education of people of different ages, since childhood to adulthood. In the first place, in order to achieve this goal, the abilities which generally need to be developped by the moral education are identified and described. Litterature may be used as an instrument in order to enhance these abilities, all this according to philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum. In the second place, psychic elements which may either foster or hinder the construction of the above mentioned abilities during child development are explained, turning to psychoanalysis, in order to understand how and why litterature may be used as an instrument to enhance these abilities.
