Representación política y participación ciudadana en las democracias

Abstract

This article deals with political representation and mechanisms for the citizen participation in the present representative democracies. It analizes the controversy between mandate and independence from representatives towards electors, and it evaluates the impact of the participation in the representation of interests, in the solution of conflicts and in the legitimacy of the representatives.
