Abstract

This essay analyses the most recent legislation about electoral processes in Mexico’s federal context. It emphazises the link between mass media (especially radio and TV) and political power. An important asseveration is that, in recent years, communications companies had had a powerful influence on the public authorities. The 2007 electoral changes respond to create a more balanced situation.
