Abstract

Family is a complex organization of relations, because in the interaction between a man and a woman in a marriage there are crisis, for which couples look for solutions, some of them as definitive as separation, abandon or divorce, in these cases there is not defeat or winning and sometimes they don’t even think about the problems these issues can have on sons, so the objective in this study is analize the effects on the self-esteem of kids in single-parented. A self-esteem test was applied to 30 high school students, who are from single-parented families, the results show that there are no effects in theself-esteem based on the type of family they belong to, this is because their self-esteem is within the normal range according to the tools used, possible explanations about the results are sill being discussed,
