Abstract

This article analyses Ulrich Beck proposal about the construction of a cosmopolitan methodological strategy, which should permeate theory and practice of social sciences in order to understand the exercise of political power in a context shaped by the globalization process. According to his thesis, the “cosmopolitan vision”, which should in turn usher contemporary political thinking, has been called to revitalize the old fashioned theoretical and methodological tools of social sciences.

Ruslan V. Posadas Velázquez, Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México

Doctor of Political and Social Sciences, Master in Political and Social Studies and a Bachelor in Political Science and Public Administration from the UNAM. He is currently a research professor in the career of Political Science and Urban Management at Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM), campus Casa Libertad, and subject teacher at the Center for Studies in Public Administration from the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales (UNAM).
