Abstract

The arterial hypertension is a multifactorial disease with increasing prevalence and incidence in our country, therefore it is considered a public health problem. The purpose of the present study was to establish the prevalence of hypertension of the Odontologic Clinics of the FES Iztacala, and observe the relationship within the age, sex, nicotine addiction, obesity, alcoholism and diabetes. Prevalence of hypertension as observed in 18% of the total patients, in females a increase of 19.7% against 14.8% in males. Hypertension increased notably in patients with more than 35 years old, and almost half of the hypertense patients were between 45 and 64 years old.
