Adolescents in conflict with the law, does the system really work? A review of alternative justice

Abstract

The present work is a reflection on how the Criminal Justice System for Adolescents is being applied based on the statistical review and field work carried out in three states of the country: Chiapas, Estado de México y Michoacán, specifically regarding the application of alternative solutions. Likewise, it is explored whether civic Justice would be a preventive alternative in certain cases.

Mexican. Full-time professor at the Faculty of Law of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She teaches courses in Forensic Legal Psychology, Criminology and Victimology, and Criminal Mediation and Restorative Justice.

Trevor Stack, University of Aberdeen

Scottish. Director of the Centre of Citizenship, Civil Society and Rule of Law at the University of Aberdeen. He teaches the subjects Understanding and Responding to Organized Crime and Rule of Law: International Experiences.
