Technology for the production of social housing roofng, towards sustainability
Main Article Content
Abstract
The housing supply in Mexico, especially in Chiapas, contrasts with Social Housing Production (SHP - PSV in Spanish). In spite of its proven benefits, SHP is ignored due to an economistic vision. In the Laboratorio Nacional de Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables – National Laboratory for Housing and Sustainable Communities, at the Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (LNVCS-UNACH) – Autonomous University of Chiapas, technologies have been adapted for SHP, focused on sustainable and safe roofing in seismic zones. The results are promising. Efforts should be pooled so as to expand their impact and promote adequate, sustainable housing for all.
