La Terra Preta de Índio: una reflexión ancestral para la enseñanza contemporánea de la química

Resumen

Este artículo propone una reflexión sobre el potencial didáctico de la Terra Preta de Índio, un suelo amazónico antropogénico, como eje integrador en la enseñanza de la química desde una perspectiva cultural, ambiental e interdisciplinaria. A partir del estudio de su origen en prácticas agrícolas indígenas y su alto contenido de biocarbón, se abordan conceptos clave como pH, reacciones redox, adsorción, capacidad de intercambio catiónico y secuestro de carbono. Se enfatiza el valor de los conocimientos tradicionales para construir soluciones sostenibles frente a problemáticas como la degradación de suelos y el cambio climático. Se propone una secuencia de aprendizaje que destaca la aportación de los pueblos originarios a soluciones contemporáneas. El artículo promueve la integración de contenidos químicos con una visión crítica del conocimiento científico, contribuyendo a una educación contextualizada y comprometida con los desafíos ambientales actuales.
